Poway
  Poway is in northwestern greater San Diego and is about 6 miles north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar.

Escondido
  Escondido, gateway (via CA-78) San Diego Wild Animal Park, is the last motel stop for southbound travelers before entering greater San Diego.

Fallbrook
  Fallbrook is a quaint, but active resort community in southern California's wine country. Surrounded by excellent golf courses it is the destination rather than a by-the-way stop for most local hotel guests.

Temecula
  About 8 miles south of the junction of I-215, Temecula is also about 8 miles from Lake Skinner County Park and Bachelor Mountain. Antique collectors will enjoy a visit to the Temecula Antique Museum.

Norco
  Norco, a suburb of Riverside, bills itself as the 'Horse Capital of the USA'. There are horse trails throughout the city. Even the crossing lights are situated to be easily reached by horseback and horses can be seen tied up at many establishments. Whatever, Norco is certainly an animal keeping, equestrian oriented community.

Fontana and Ontario
  Fontana is at the intersection of I-10 and I-15. I-10 is a preferred route to the Ontario Airport as well as the more northern environs of Los Angeles and many of its northern suburbs.

Victorville
  Victorville is a favorite refueling stop for I-40 eastbound passengers. The gas prices climb out of sight until you reach Kingman, AZ. Las Vegas, though, usually has decent prices.
  For westbound travelers, CA-18 is the the 'short cut' to CA-14, I-5 northbound and Ventura County on the coast. It is accessed at exit 148 in Victorville.

Barstow
  Barstow is the point of departure for eastbound I-40 travelers. It is also the departure point for northbound I-15 travelers. From here to Las Vegas is a lot of lonely desert - and no gas.
