Navigating the streets of Washington, DC

   Most of the streets and avenues the hotels are on are easy to find. There are also a lot of streets that to not conform to the original street layout plan. Basically, Washington is divided in quarters, Northwest (NW), Northeast (NE), Southwest (SW) and Southeast (SE). The center point is the capitol building (the dome is shown on our map at the right (east) end of the Mall which, on our map, is the wide, green rectangle).
   The streets dividing the quarters are named Capitol Street. There is a North, South, East and West Capitol Street. We didn't feel, considering the cramped space on computer monitors, that it was necessary to show all fopur on the map so we have only shown North Capitol Street. The Mall is the effective north-south dividing line.
   The streets which are sites of most of the hotels are marked on the map. Click on the street name and you will be presented with a list of the hotels on that street. Generally, the lower the ZIP code, the closer to the Capitol building.
   If you would rather view an alphabetic list of all the hotels, click here. After you enter your room requirements and preferences, click on the "Perform Hotel Search" button at the bottom of the form (just above the yellow 'RETURN' button). On the next page, just above the first listing, you will see a line with the title "Sort By:" followed by a link, "Hotel Name". Click on "Hotel Name" and the server will sort the hotels alphabetically. (Normally, we present them in the order of their popularity.) There are links to other lists and maps above as well as the other pages you will be viewing.
